Awesome Points (AP)
Awesome Points are points gained for performing Awesome actions. Any number of Awesome Points can be spent during your turn, and can be used in the following ways. This list is not exhaustive.
- Additional Action: You can spend an Awesome Point to gain one additional action during your turn.
- Additional Damage: By spending an Awesome Point, you can deal an additional 1d4 damage of whatever type the Power usually deals.
Health, Death, and Recovery
- Healing Surge Recovery: If you take an extended rest, you regain a number of Healing Surges equal to your Constitution Modifier, plus one for every two hours over four you have rested. So, if you slept for six hours, and your Constitution Modifier was 0, you would regain one healing surge. If you slept for six hours and your Constitution Modifier was 1, you would regain two healing surges. If you slept for eight hours, and your Constitution Modifier was 0, you would regain two healing surges, and so on. This mechanic has been added to keep you mindful of the time you spend sleeping, which may be important in a time-critical scenario.
- Death and Dying: If you begin dying, the number of failed Death Saving Throws allowed will be determined by the severity of whatever knocked you out. If the stab of a dagger takes you below 0 HP, the number of failed Death Saving Throws allowed is likely to be higher than if you fell from a colossal height, or were mauled by something particularly vicious. As a rule of thumb – the further below 0 a particular action forces you, the less failed Death Saving Throws you will be allowed. In some instances, you may not be told how many failed Death Saving Throws you are allowed.
